The ETCO is seeking an experienced and motivated Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead the organisation’s operations and deliver Board-approved strategy. Reporting directly to the ETCO Chair, the COO will have overall responsibility for operational delivery, governance, quality assurance, and organisational sustainability.
This is a senior leadership role, working closely with the Board to ensure ETCO operates effectively, compliantly, and in alignment with its mission and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership

Maintain oversight of ETCO’s international course portfolio, including demand, capacity, and delivery.

Ensure accurate recording and monitoring of course attendees and instructors.

Lead quality assurance processes to ensure consistent standards across all ETCO courses.

Oversee instructor training, revalidation, and course feedback analysis.
Strategy & Planning

Implement and support the delivery of Board-approved strategic plans.

Translate strategic objectives into operational plans and measurable outcomes.
Governance & Compliance

Support the ETCO Chair and Board in delivering strong organisational and operational governance.

Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and statutory obligations, including GDPR.

Maintain and develop governance structures, policies, and audit processes.
Finance

Manage finances in line with ETCO policy.

Support the Treasurer in monitoring financial performance, budgeting, and reporting.

Proven leadership and operational management experience, with the ability to oversee complex activities and coordinate work across international settings.

Experience translating Board-approved strategy into effective operational plans and measurable outcomes.

Sound understanding of governance, regulatory, and statutory requirements, including data protection and information governance.

Financial awareness, with experience supporting budgeting, financial monitoring, and responsible resource allocation.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with Board members, instructors, course providers, and external partners.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, ensuring consistency, quality assurance, and compliance across all ETCO activities.

A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach, with the ability to manage change, address challenges effectively, and support continuous improvement.
